New Century, KANSAS, September 22, 2025 – Butler Avionics, Inc., a leading aircraft special mission integrator and avionics modification facility, and wholly owned subsidiary of Butler National Corporation (OTCQX: BUKS) announces European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) approval of the Class A TAWS (Terrain Awareness and Warning System), EASA STC No. 10088109, for Learjet Model 35/35A/36/36A airplanes.
Butler received FAA STC ST04538CH and now has EASA STC approval for the Class A TAWS for the Learjet Model 35 and 36 series airplanes, which are installed with the Garmin GTN 750/750Xi Navigator. The Class A TAWS system features three principal alerting functions: Forward-Looking Terrain-Avoidance (FLTA) function, which includes: (i) Reduced required terrain clearance; and (ii) Imminent terrain impact; Premature Descent Alert (PDA) function; and Basic Ground Proximity Warning System (GPWS) functions.
“The Garmin TAWS-A works seamlessly with the GTN Navigators, and the TAWS-A upgrade is a cost-effective solution that is ideal for Learjets.” Commented Patrick Hupp, Avionics Manager of Butler Avionics. “We are receiving many inquiries about the TAWS-A, and we are extremely pleased to offer Learjet operators worldwide a quality alternative with both EASA and FAA STC approval. Operators may purchase the upgrade for the Class A TAWS with STC approvals directly from Butler Avionics or through their local licensed Avionics Facility. We are continuing to focus on global solutions to satisfy regulatory requirements. We also hope to announce the non-halon fire extinguisher EASA approval in the very near future.” Added Hupp.
