Butler Avionics Receives FAA Approval for TAWS-A STC Installation in Learjet 30 Series Aircraft

Butler Avionics, Inc., a subsidiary of Butler National Corporation (OTCQX: BUKS), a provider of avionics solutions and FAA-certified repair station, announces Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approval Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) No. ST04538CH for the installation of Class A Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS-A) in Learjet 30 series aircraft.

The FAA issued STC ST04538CH to Butler National Corporation, covering Learjet Models 35, 35A (C-21A), 36, and 36A when installed with the Garmin GTN 750 Navigator.

The installation provide the Learjet aircraft with enhanced flight safety features that meet Part 25 airworthiness requirements, including:

  • Forward-Looking Terrain Avoidance (FLTA)
  • Premature Descent Alerts (PDA)
  • Excessive Closure Rate and Descent Rate Alerts
  • ILS Glideslope Deviation Warnings
  • Terrain Awareness Display Functionality

This FAA-approved solution is designed to reduce the risk of Controlled Flight Into Terrain (CFIT) incidents, providing legacy Learjets compliance with current safety and regulatory standards. The certification effort included extensive flight testing.
